DOE2017 is focused on increasing opportunities for small businesses within the agency
Washington, DC, November 5, 2016 – The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), the largest civilian contracting agency within the Federal government will be holding the 16th Annual DOE Small Business Forum & Expo from May 16-18, 2017 at the Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center. The event is expected to draw nearly 1,000 attendees to meet with DOE’s programs, site and facility management contractors, which includes 17 National Laboratories as well as other Federal agencies.
Over 50 distinguished panelists and speakers within DOE and the small business community will provide guidance to help small businesses increase their knowledge of Federal procurement and where to seek opportunities within DOE. The Department received an “A” on the Small
Business Administration’s (SBA) FY 2015 Small Business Procurement Scorecard in April 2016.
“Small businesses have proved to be a vital resource to the capabilities of the department in advancing our nation’s energy technologies and nuclear security,” said Mr. John Hale III, Director of DOE OSDBU. “The department is committed to provide new opportunities to small businesses and introduce new innovations and technologies to our energy programs.”
DOE2017 will also feature a large Exhibit Hall, as well as a full day business matchmaking sessions for small business owners to discuss their products and services with DOE’s Federal and prime contractor representatives. The agency will hold an awards presentation to honor the Fiscal Year 2016 Small Business Award recipients.
